WHAT IS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT?
Emergency Management is a system designed to coordinate the emergency response and planning efforts of a community. The Emergency Management Agency is tasked with the responsibility of making sure these plans are kept up-to-date. Each county is required by law to have an emergency management director and a county emergency operations plan known as the EOP. The EOP is a comprehensive plan that addresses the problems and consequences that are caused from all types of Hazards. The Hazards are both and naturally occurring and manmade. They include such things as Bomb threats, Civil disturbances, Floods, Blizzards, Large power outages, Tornadoes and any life threatening hazards.
